With a background in music production, music publishing, artist development, marketing, radio and out-of-home advertising, Laura has worked with such companies as Sony Music, EMI, CBS Radio and OUTFRONT Media.  Throughout her career, Laura has been recognized for her outstanding work and commitment by winning awards (OUTShine Award). She has played a pivotal role in coordinating album release parties, special events, photo, and video shoots, along with developing marketing strategies for top tier recording artists. She created and nurtured songwriter and producer relationships to help build and sustain a viable roster of artists such as BeBe Winans, Rob Thomas, Idina Menzel, Simone Hines, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Franc Reyes.  She has also been a leader for change and diversity by being a DEI board member and hosting powerful and informative interview conversations with America’s leaders such as Ms. Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth.  
 
Feeling the need to fulfill a lifelong dream, Laura left the corporate world and co-founded Wisdom Entertainment, an independent record label. Working with talents such as Nia Allen, Xclusive, Broken Silence, and Lee Matthews, her hands-on approach, creative vision, and passion for music provided the guidance that allowed her Wisdom’s artists to bring their musical dreams and creative vision to life through innovative marketing and production strategies, giving the artists the platform to tell their stories through music.

Laura has always been drawn to storytelling and has a deep appreciation for its power to illuminate the lives and experiences of marginalized communities; more specifically, black women, who are often working behind the scenes and unrecognized for their contributions. This in turn has inspired Laura to be the driving force behind the successful development of Jane Kellie Productions where she creates bold projects and innovative films for the culture.

Laura’s debut film project, which she both wrote and produced, is a groundbreaking exploration of the untold stories of black women throughout history. The film sheds light on the contributions and sacrifices of these women in various contexts, from emancipation to the Civil Rights Movement to the contemporary struggle for justice and equality today.

Through her work, Laura seeks to challenge the dominant narratives that have marginalized the stories of black women and other underrepresented groups. She is dedicated to telling stories and creating impactful content that not only entertains but also educates and inspires audiences to think critically about race, gender, and power for years to come. With her talent, drive and passion, Laura is poised to make a significant impact in the film industry and beyond.
