Through film, podcasts, interviews, and moderated conversations, we tell stories of culture, perseverance, love, and hope. Every project begins with curiosity and ends with a story that stays with you.
Meet Laura
Her Story
Laura Williams has spent over 20 years helping other people’s stories reach the world. In music, she worked with Sony Music and EMI Music Publishing, building relationships with songwriters and producers and shaping marketing for artists including BeBe Winans, Rob Thomas, Idina Menzel, and Darius Rucker. She went on to marketing at CBS Radio and finance and culture awareness at OUTFRONT Media, where she earned an OUTShine Award and hosted conversations with leaders such as Dr. Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, and Hollywood producer Will Packer.
Inspired by the women in her family, whose strength carried more than most people ever saw, Laura has always been drawn to the unsung heroes and heroines of the Black diaspora and around the world, and to the allies who stood beside them. Now she is telling those stories herself.
Her debut documentary, The Wait of HerStory, follows four women carrying history forward. It’s in production now and aiming for the festival circuit in 2027. It is the first of many films Laura is building at Jane Kellie Films: stories that change what we know, and what we remember.

Her Mission
Laura believes the stories we tell shape who we think matters. Too often, Black women are the ones working behind the scenes, holding families, communities, and movements together while the spotlight lands somewhere else. Her mission is to center those stories, and the stories of other communities too often left out, through films that entertain, educate, and challenge the narratives we’ve inherited about race, gender, and power.
